WE ACT’s mission is to build healthy communities by ensuring that people of color and/or low income residents participate meaningfully in the creation of sound and fair environmental health and protection policies and practices.

WE ACT needed a place on the web that told the organization’s incredible story and helped organize their many members around their public actions. WEACT’s new site utilizes dynamic content “hubs,” with a custom CMS built to dynamically build sections which combine and collate related content from across the spectrum of their advocacy. Tying in third-party integration with organizing and membership tools, the new site provides WEACT with a new toolset for activism in today’s critically important activist environment.

We were happy to work with West Harlem Environmental Action on the overhaul of their new flagship website. It’s a continuation of our great work on websites for nonprofits!

Center for Dialysis Innovation

CDI Research Hub

The mission of the Center for Dialysis Innovation is to improve the health and well-being of people with advanced kidney disease initiating and receiving dialysis treatment. The vision for the Center for Dialysis Innovation is that future dialysis therapy will be complication free, and completely restorative of kidney health.

Our work with the Center for Dialysis Innovation is a continuation of our partnership with research institutes and universities. Working with key researchers and university administrators, Social Ink built CDI’s new site from the ground up.

The new web platform features filtering for the center’s publications, reports, and clinical trial studies and a multimedia portal for patient’s compelling stories. The site is responsive and mobile across several browsers, screens, tablets, and phones.

We’re thrilled to have completed this project with CDI and look forward to more work on websites for researchers and universities.

Health Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE) is the largest union of Registered Nurses and health care professionals in New Jersey. With more than 12,000 members, they are also the fastest growing health care union in the state. Nurses, social workers, therapists, technicians, medical researchers, and other healthcare professionals join HPAE to advance and improve patient care and professional practices and working conditions in their health care facilities. Whether it is advocating for safe staffing at the bedside, for patient and worker safety, for adequate funding for medical research and health care access, HPAE members play a strong role in setting standards for health care throughout New Jersey and the nation.

In the summer of 2016 we launched the new flagship site for Health Professionals and Allied Employees. Planning strategically with the union’s leadership, Social Ink built a custom CMS powered by WordPress, created to manage events, downloadable publications and union forms, campaigns, and much more. Designed and developed to grow as the union grows, this site reflects HPAE’s transition from a regional advocate to a national presence.

Key features of the site include a custom locals locator for union members and a hub for each individual local. The site is responsive across several phones, tablets, screens, other displays.

Our collaboration with HPAE expands our great portfolio in the political arena. We’re delighted to continue creating websites for unions and advocacy organizations!

Members of the American Federation of Musicians perform in orchestras, backup bands, festivals, clubs and theaters—both on Broadway and on tour. AFM members also make music for films, TV, commercials and sound recordings. As the largest union of musicians in the world, AFM has the power to make the music industry work for musicians.

Social Ink is proud to have worked with the American Federation of Musicians on the complete overhaul of their flagship site. Built in the user-friendly WordPress CMS, the site primarily serves current and potential members. We coordinated with AFM leadership to design an immersive site that gave them embedded video, social media integration, news, an interactive feature demonstrating the steps of union organizing, and easy-to-reference resources for various types of musicians.

Key features of the site include dual language options for the many French speaking members in the Canadian branch of the union, an interactive travel kit tool with quick tips and resources for traveling with instruments, a locator for union locals, and mobile and responsive design.

We are thrilled to continue our work with progressive organizations, creating websites for political organizations and advocacy groups.

Scholars at Risk at NYU

From our Portfolio
Scholars at Risk Homepage

Scholars at Risk offers safety by arranging temporary academic positions at member universities and colleges to scholars facing grave threats, so scholars’ ideas are not lost and they can keep working until conditions improve and return to their home countries.

In spring 2016, Social Ink worked with Scholars at Risk to completely overhaul the network’s home on the web. We partnered with administrators from SAR to create a web platform that allowed international branches of the organization to upload their specific content and integrate Salsa forms for donations and scholar submissions. The site is responsive across several tablets, monitors, and phones.

Social Ink is glad to have made this site with Scholars at Risk. It represents our work at the nexus between advocacy and academia.

A decade after his death The Moynihan Documentary Project, the first feature length documentary about his life, captures Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the man, the thinker, and the doer as never before. More than simply a traditional great man biography, the film portrays the spirit of Moynihan’s ideas as they evolved over the course of his remarkable and often tumultuous life in postwar America–both the triumphs and the controversies.

Social Ink created a new website and visual identity for The Daniel Patrick Moynihan Film Project, a documentary chronicling the life of the former United States senator and ambassador to the United Nations.

Work on the project included full-bleed hero images, a multimedia-equipped WordPress CMS embedding video, and slideshows of production stills and exclusive photos. The website is responsive and can be viewed across the screens of several phones, tablets, laptops, and monitors.

We are happy to have worked with the creators of this forthcoming documentary and to continue building websites for creatives!

The Prisoner Reentry Institute (PRI) is one of twelve institutes that collectively comprise the Research Consortium of John Jay College of Criminal Justice. PRI’s innovative reentry projects are unified by their devotion to a single mission: Easing reentry and guiding justice-involved people – and the practitioners dedicated to helping them – as they successfully reintegrate into their communities as thriving members of society.

Social Ink is very happy to create a web platform for the Prisoner Reentry Institute (PRI), a research institution focused on innovation and improved practice in the field of prisoner reentry.

We worked with the leadership of PRI to build a new home on the web with an information architecture schema that engages users in each of the organization’s initiatives and special projects. Built with a custom WordPress CMS, the site is responsive across an array of phones, tablets, and monitors.

The Prisoner Reentry Institute’s new site represents Social Ink’s work in the space between nonprofits and legal jurisdictions. We’re proud to have worked with them!

Global Institute for Advanced Study at NYU sponsors working research groups on innovative and (typically) interdisciplinary topics that require cooperation on an international scale and a sustained multi-year focus.

Social Ink and the Global Institute for Advanced Study at NYU worked together in 2016 to create a web presence for the university institution. GIAS provides financial and academic support to working groups based in existing departments of NYU, led by an NYU faculty member.

The new GIAS site utilizes an open-source, user-friendly WordPress CMS, providing a customized backend experience for no-code site administration and growth. Key features include an easy-to-update Current Projects template and mobile responsive design that adapts content for myriad screens sizes.

We’re happy to have partnered with GIAS on this project that helps to support scholars and their research endeavors. The design and development of the institute’s new site is a continuation of Social Ink’s work on websites for nonprofits and university organizations!

In 2003, Congress passed the landmark Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), recognizing that sexual abuse is a serious and persistent problem in correctional environments. The Vera Institute of Justice helped the Johnson County Department of Corrections form a partnership with the county’s sexual assault response team (SART) and develop a comprehensive sexual assault response policy for an adult community confinement facility and a local juvenile facility. The SARTs in Corrections website reflects the project’s work and the lessons learned throughout the process and features a guide to help facilities implement the PREA standards.

Social Ink is very pleased to lead the design and development for the Sexual Assault Response Teams in Corrections’ home on the web, a site disseminating the project’s guide for community confinement and juvenile detention facilities.

The interactive site leads administrators of local community confinement and juvenile detention facilities through the steps of connecting with a local SART. Administrators can download and print each part of the guide, including training materials and participant surveys.  Social Ink completed the graphic design of the guide’s print layout and in the CMS we built a custom interface for building new chapters dynamically. The site’s responsive design makes sure users will have an easy time viewing the information on most phones, tablets, and larger monitors.

We’re very glad to have worked with researchers and administrators from the Vera Institute of Justice on this tremendously important project. The PREA SARTs site represents our continuing work on websites for foundations, nonprofits, think-tanks, and government jurisdictions.

Triangle Manufacturing

From our Portfolio

Triangle Manufacturing partners with clients, global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to develop a wide range of devices for all facets of the medical industry. With extensive expertise in powered tools, hip implants, knee implants, and spinal and trauma devices, Triangle is instrumental in the collaborative design, manufacturing and quality delivery of an array of medical implants and instrumentation.

Social Ink created a new site, the launch of which coincided with Triangle’s next phase of growth as a family-owned manufacturing company. Key considerations for the project were customer relationship management (CRM) integration and a custom, open-source, user friendly CMS for Triangle employees. The site is responsive and mobile across various displays and phones.

We were very pleased to work with Triangle on their new web platform; this project serves as a great example of Social Ink’s expertise on websites for manufacturers.
