Neighborhood Restore is a nonprofit organization that oversees a variety of affordable housing development programs that focus on transitioning properties from financial and physical abandonment to third party ownership. In addition to developing and overseeing its own housing programs, Neighborhood Restore supports other community development efforts through construction management services, technical assistance, and homeowner support.

Working with the administrators of Neighborhood Restore Housing Development Fund Corporation, Social Ink gave the nonprofit a new home on the web. Powered by the WordPress CMS, the site focuses on an audience of homebuyers, homeowners and developers, accessibility, and user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). Key features of the site include a map showcasing the units the organization has preserved over the years with an option for custom text overlay and application submission for available housing and development projects. The site is responsive across an array of screens, including tablets, phones, and several monitors.

We’re proud to partner with an organization that does such important working in housing in New York City. The creation of Neighborhood Restore’s new website showcases Social Ink’s work on websites for nonprofits.

Global Institute for Advanced Study at NYU sponsors working research groups on innovative and (typically) interdisciplinary topics that require cooperation on an international scale and a sustained multi-year focus.

Social Ink and the Global Institute for Advanced Study at NYU worked together in 2016 to create a web presence for the university institution. GIAS provides financial and academic support to working groups based in existing departments of NYU, led by an NYU faculty member.

The new GIAS site utilizes an open-source, user-friendly WordPress CMS, providing a customized backend experience for no-code site administration and growth. Key features include an easy-to-update Current Projects template and mobile responsive design that adapts content for myriad screens sizes.

We’re happy to have partnered with GIAS on this project that helps to support scholars and their research endeavors. The design and development of the institute’s new site is a continuation of Social Ink’s work on websites for nonprofits and university organizations!

HomeSmartNY Interactive Map

For people who want to be smart about buying and owning a home, HomeSmartNY is New York State’s largest network of professional, unbiased, nonprofit homeownership advisors.

Working with key team members of HomeSmartNY, we built a site from the ground up, focusing on an audience of homebuyers and homeowners, accessibility, and user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). A key feature of HomeSmartNY’s new platform is the interactive map, which allows site users to find resources specific to their needs through the use of an advanced search filter.

HomeSmartNY is doing great work educating homebuyers and homeowners in New York City and New York state; as part of our continued work with web design for nonprofits, Social Ink is happy to set them up with a platform that engages their users.

Social Ink has been in NYC since 2007!
