Site overhaul for Scholars at Risk, an NYU-based international network that protects scholars and promotes academic freedom internationally.
About the Work
Scholars at Risk offers safety by arranging temporary academic positions at member universities and colleges to scholars facing grave threats, so scholars’ ideas are not lost and they can keep working until conditions improve and return to their home countries.
In spring 2016, Social Ink worked with New York University’s Scholars at Risk to completely overhaul the network’s home on the web. We partnered with administrators from SAR to create a web platform that allows for global connectivity, serving as a hub for international branches of the organization to upload their specific content across their world-wide network.
On the integrations front, we worked to implement and redesign Salsa forms for donations and secure scholar submissions, and implemented a REST API interface for external vendors and websites to grab granular data for their own websites.
As with all sites we build these days, the site is responsive across screens of all sizes, including tablets, monitors, and phones.
Social Ink is thrilled to contribute to the important work of Scholars at Risk, representing our continued work at the nexus between advocacy and academia.
