Members of the American Federation of Musicians perform in orchestras, backup bands, festivals, clubs and theaters—both on Broadway and on tour. AFM members also make music for films, TV, commercials and sound recordings. As the largest union of musicians in the world, AFM has the power to make the music industry work for musicians.
Social Ink is proud to have worked with the American Federation of Musicians on the complete overhaul of their flagship site. Built in the user-friendly WordPress CMS, the site primarily serves current and potential members. We coordinated with AFM leadership to design an immersive site that gave them embedded video, social media integration, news, an interactive feature demonstrating the steps of union organizing, and easy-to-reference resources for various types of musicians.
Key features of the site include dual language options for the many French speaking members in the Canadian branch of the union, an interactive travel kit tool with quick tips and resources for traveling with instruments, a locator for union locals, and mobile and responsive design.
