San Bernardino Rising - Homepage - Social Ink

With the SEIU’s researchers, Social Ink produced a campaign-oriented website helping its members – and others – calculate healthcare costs and shine a light on complicated industry details. We developed a detailed calculator that amortizes and calculates different rates depending on plan, dependents and income.

Our tradition of bringing strong, reliable and rapid design to bear on mission-critical endeavors continues with our San Bernardino website.

Columbia University’s Metro NY Registry is an online resource and repository for families with a history of breast or ovarian cancer. The site aims to help build a community around common genetic and social factors and inform and improve research.

Social Ink worked with the project’s lead to rebuild their old, static HTML website into a dynamic, easy-to-update CMS (Content Management System), along with design refinements and new slideshows and content types.

Serving alongside the Breast Cancer Family Registry we recently launched as part of the same project, we are proud to work alongside Columbia University and institutions of higher education building websites for research in the sciences and medicine.

Justice and Health Connect aims to increase the ability of government agencies and community organizations to share information across behavioral health and justice systems.

We worked together with the Vera Institute team responsible for the project to create a logomark, visual identity and an advanced system to accommodate and provide access to the vast library of data they were publishing.  Integrating mailing list, print-only modes and filtration systems created a challenging, inspiring work environment with results we’re quite proud to share.  Together with JHConnect, we remain committed to projects involving public health and civil rights issues.

Columbia University’s Breast Cancer Family Registry exists to realize the full potential of collaborative research involving breast cancer families — to reduce the global impact of the disease.

In order to realize this vision, Columbia and the BCFR  partners approached Social Ink to brand, design and develop an information-based site, with an extendable codebase for future interaction and resource-building. By incorporating a customized CMS backend for easy staff control, a high resolution slideshow, partner buttons, and content templates, the site provides access for participants and researchers, highlighting grants and publications in addition to background information and contact forms.

The BCFR is funded by the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

Continuing our work building websites for medical research and scientific projects, Social Ink worked with Washington University’s Kidney Research Institute to redesign and  rebuild their old website.

In addition to a new interface and layout including slideshows and staff and investigator profiles, we created a custom app-based interface to search, filter and offer resources around the Institute’s work, publications and research.

A special subproject saw the realization of an online, season-based vitamin D calculator, allowing outside practitioners and the public to benefit from the Institute’s work.

Social Ink has been in NYC since 2007!
