Members of the American Federation of Musicians perform in orchestras, backup bands, festivals, clubs and theaters—both on Broadway and on tour. AFM members also make music for films, TV, commercials and sound recordings. As the largest union of musicians in the world, AFM has the power to make the music industry work for musicians.

Social Ink is proud to have worked with the American Federation of Musicians on the complete overhaul of their flagship site. Built in the user-friendly WordPress CMS, the site primarily serves current and potential members. We coordinated with AFM leadership to design an immersive site that gave them embedded video, social media integration, news, an interactive feature demonstrating the steps of union organizing, and easy-to-reference resources for various types of musicians.

Key features of the site include dual language options for the many French speaking members in the Canadian branch of the union, an interactive travel kit tool with quick tips and resources for traveling with instruments, a locator for union locals, and mobile and responsive design.

We are thrilled to continue our work with progressive organizations, creating websites for political organizations and advocacy groups.

A decade after his death The Moynihan Documentary Project, the first feature length documentary about his life, captures Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the man, the thinker, and the doer as never before. More than simply a traditional great man biography, the film portrays the spirit of Moynihan’s ideas as they evolved over the course of his remarkable and often tumultuous life in postwar America–both the triumphs and the controversies.

Social Ink created a new website and visual identity for The Daniel Patrick Moynihan Film Project, a documentary chronicling the life of the former United States senator and ambassador to the United Nations.

Work on the project included full-bleed hero images, a multimedia-equipped WordPress CMS embedding video, and slideshows of production stills and exclusive photos. The website is responsive and can be viewed across the screens of several phones, tablets, laptops, and monitors.

We are happy to have worked with the creators of this forthcoming documentary and to continue building websites for creatives!

The CMS powered site is responsive across phones, tablets, and monitors of various shapes and sizes and will aid the growth of the #StopSlut movement.

We are thrilled to work with The Feminist Press, continuing our service to progressive nonprofit organizations.

As part of our work building dynamic, CMS-powered websites for artists & creatives, we built out a lush portfolio site for model and artist May Andersen.

The site includes photography from her modelling portfolio, her own photography and artwork, as well as essays and a blog. In addition to the standard CMS backend for content updates and edits, we spliced in photos from Andersen’s instagram feed, leveraging the ease and inclusiveness of this popular social network.

To complete the aesthetic, we are using custom pro fonts from the typekit service and full bleed browser width photos to provide a unique presence and immersive experience.

Ketuv offers a fine arts option for couples seeking Ketubahs (documents formalizing a marriage under Jewish law). Led by dynamic co-founders Arielle and Maya, Ketuv offers unique opportunities for artists and a one-of-a-kind artwork and document for couples.

Ketuv reached out to Social Ink to analyze their site and offer a consultation regarding their user interface, particularly on the homepage and blog. After a thorough review, we suggested opening up the site with better margins and more space, making typography changes, and implementing a cascading grid of products, among other refinements.

Following up on our review, we massaged the site’s existing code to implement the changes and revitalize the site.
