Another quick turnaround project continuing Social Ink’s work building advocacy websites addresses pending state legislation in New York to raise the age of criminal responsibility in New York State, “in the best interest of New York’s children and youth, communities and community safety, as well as the state’s economy.”

This project continues our series of efficient, flexible, CMS powered advocacy sites helping to stir political action and participation. Features include slideshow, video integration, news feed, Twitter feed, and integrated petitions.

Breast Cancer Family Registry

Columbia University’s Breast Cancer Family Registry exists to realize the full potential of collaborative research involving breast cancer families — to reduce the global impact of the disease.

In order to realize this vision, Columbia and the BCFR  partners approached Social Ink to brand, design and develop an information-based site, with an extendable codebase for future interaction and resource-building. By incorporating a customized CMS backend for easy staff control, a high resolution slideshow, partner buttons, and content templates, the site provides access for participants and researchers, highlighting grants and publications in addition to background information and contact forms.

The BCFR is funded by the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

Walgreens Gone Wrong

Change to Win approached Social Ink about their latest consumer watchdog advocacy campaign, to educate shoppers around Walgreens’ business practice.

Social Ink worked with CTW to have a fair use campaign site, combining video, mailing list signup and educational materials to help the nationwide campaign. The site is built with a responsive framework that intelligently and fluidly changes the layout to accomodate for a variety of resolutions and device types.

Social Ink worked together with progressive journalism project and online magazine WNV to design a new visual identity and logo, and rebuild their existing platform, migrating over 3 years and 2000 articles into a newly categorized and easily searchable system.

The new site links related content and archived metadata in an integrated experience. Using the latest in responsive design and development, the site intelligently shifts layouts to be viewed across all mobile devices and browser sizes.

Web design for online magazines is an important and emerging area of work for Social Ink!

The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY works directly with the United Nations to organize and work for women’s rights the world over.

CSW reached out to Social Ink to redesign and rebuild their website, creating new visual identity assets and icons and re-aligning their events management flow with an integrated donations and registration payments (ECommerce) system. This CMS-powered site with customized backend interface powers all CSW events and helps the site with outreach and organization.

BoardAssist

BoardAssist Blog

BoardAssist, a nationally recognized organization that helps nonprofits and board members connect with one another, contacted Social Ink about updating their site to reflect their changing demographic and current web standards.

Working together, we completely redesigned the BoardAssist site, including streamlining the application processes and giving BoardAssist staff full control over the various types of data and content areas.

As we continue to build websites for nonprofit organizations, we support the fine work of Board Assist as they play their part in the nonprofit community!

The Correctional Association of New York works for prison reform and a more humane and equitable criminal justice system.

Social Ink designed a new visual identity and developed an information packed website with resources, and multipronged outreach initiatives. As we worked to refine the key content delivery mechanisms and targeted audiences, we developed and launched a specialized cross-referenced resource database, and multiple templates for coalitions, issue oriented actions, press and media, and more.

We are proud to support the Correctional Association’s work to reform the criminal justice system in New York and beyond, as we continue our work building websites for nonprofits.

Circle of Women

Circle of Women is a national nonprofit lead by an enthusiastic team of young, dedicated women, “mobilizing students to provide access to education for girls without it.”

As the organization grows, they needed a more robust, media rich site to establish their presence to volunteers, donors and partners. Social Ink worked closely with board leaders and other team members to provide an easily updatable site to showcase Circle of Women’s latest projects, their staff and integrate their donation services to site databases.

We’re proud to support the fine work of Circle of Women as we further our work designing and developing websites for nonprofits.

 

Don’t Hang Up On Connecticut

Social Ink worked to quickly launch a campaign site for Don’t Hang Up On Connecticut, a loose affiliation of of organizations united to stop SB 447.

We used previous assets that are market-tested in campaign-oriented sites (both ours and externally) to help get the message across, integrating Salsa and Twitter to take full advantage of social media awareness.

 

No More Cuts Illinois

In record time, Social Ink put together an advocacy and grassroots organizing website for No More Cuts Illinois, fighting against government cuts for home care and child care funding.

Social Ink developed a campaign-optimized CMS, integrating a Twitter feed and a petition platform for gathering signatures, along with news updates and contact forms for citizens to share their stories. Specific functionality included web hosting, CMS development, interface design petitions, and slideshows.
