Freshkills Park Alliance

Freshkills Park Alliance: Homepage

Continuing our work building websites for civic groups and public-sector organizations such as the New York City Parks, we worked closely with the Freshkills Park Alliance to design, develop and implement and foundational website for public outreach, information, and resources.

The website gives Freshkills Park an extended reach as this massive urban landscape redevelopment project proceeds in the former Freshkills Landfill in Staten Island.

Project challenges included on-site, recurring donations, events integration with Eventbrite, visual identity alignment, and considerable information architecture consulting to make sense of the breadth of resources and information that the Alliance offers. The site is fully mobile responsive, adapting to touch devices and lower resolution screens without loading a separate site.

The Freshkills Park Alliance, along with the New York City Parks Department, is powering an amazing, and vital public works project; we can’t wait to see the plan unfold in the coming years.

We're pleased to announce the launch of a new Manhattan and New York City advocacy site, Friends of the East River Greenway! We worked with the coalition to design and develop a new advocacy website for the coalition. The design prioritizes community involvement for the efforts to complete the East River Greenway between 38th and 60th streets using funds generated by the U.N.'s moderation.

WEDO, the Women’s Environment and Development Organization, is a New York City-based non-profit focusing on international women’s rights. Working together with the WEDO team, we planned and implemented a complete website overhaul, including visual identity and rebranding, a CMS-powered website, and an information architecture rebuild.

Key components of the website include slideshows and multimedia, a filter-based library, events calendar, and distinct sections for themes, initiatives, and press.

We continue to have an ongoing relationship with the fine folks at WEDO, adding functionality and new sections as necessary.
