J.M. Kaplan Fund

JM Kaplan Fund Homepage

The J.M. Kaplan Fund promotes initiatives to foster city life, the environment, historic preservation, and migrations in the New York area and beyond. The J.M. Kaplan Fund was established in 1945 by businessman and philanthropist Jacob Merrill Kaplan.

Continuing our work designing and building websites for Foundations and philanthropic organizations, Social Ink worked directly with the J.M. Kaplan Fund to reinvigorate their web presence, transitioning their old, static HTML site to a dynamic, easy-to-update CMS. Thinking through foundation-specific issues regarding access, grant areas, and transparency, the rebuilt site allows the foundation to take pre-emptive steps to filter potential grant seekers while providing news and updates regarding their work and progress. Project details include grant and document archiving, custom slideshows, and custom overview sections and application forms.

Our ongoing relationship provides updates, backups, and as-needed maintenance and updates, while in-house staff have freedom over content entry and development.

The Lavelle Fund

Lavelle Fund - Homepage

The Lavelle Fund is a NY-area foundation which supports the blind and visually impaired and the institutions and organizations working to prevent vision loss.

Continuing our work building websites for foundations, we worked closely with Lavelle Fund executive and support staff to completely redesign their website and visual identity.

Moving Lavelle from a difficult-to-update, static HTML site to a fully powered CMS, they are now able to update their grants, guidelines, news, updates, and collateral documents and media, in an elegant new site that speaks to their organizational stature.

Social Ink always designs sites to be fully compatible and accessible; in this case, we devoted special attention to screenreader support and text-size adjustment.

The Pinkerton Foundation

Pinkerton Foundation Homepage | Websites for Foundations

Social Ink worked with New York’s Pinkerton Foundation to overhaul and build a brand new web presence. In the spirit of both an online calling card showcasing the work and mission of the organization and to make the grant proposal process more transparent, the site was built with special attention to inter-related sections and information architecture.

Featuring up to date news regarding the foundation’s enterprises and easily navigated grant guidelines and contact information, the reinvigorated site sheds new light on the organization’s mission to improve the lives of New York City youth across program areas: after school learning, career readiness, education, and youth justice.

It has been our pleasure working alongside the fine folks at the Pinkerton Foundation as we grow our portfolio for websites for foundations.
