Home Catholic Medical Mission Board

Continuing our mission in working with organizations that engage human rights – including gender-equality and access to healthcare – across the world, Social Ink recently partnered with the Catholic Medical Mission Board, an NYC-based nonprofit that supplies funds and organizes around the world.

Together with key staff we helped design a site from scratch, emphasizing eye-catching statistics, mission-based work and engaging donors across multiple campaigns.  Integration with third party software – such as MailChimp – rounded out the project.

Freshkills Park Alliance

Freshkills Park Alliance: Homepage

Continuing our work building websites for civic groups and public-sector organizations such as the New York City Parks, we worked closely with the Freshkills Park Alliance to design, develop and implement and foundational website for public outreach, information, and resources.

The website gives Freshkills Park an extended reach as this massive urban landscape redevelopment project proceeds in the former Freshkills Landfill in Staten Island.

Project challenges included on-site, recurring donations, events integration with Eventbrite, visual identity alignment, and considerable information architecture consulting to make sense of the breadth of resources and information that the Alliance offers. The site is fully mobile responsive, adapting to touch devices and lower resolution screens without loading a separate site.

The Freshkills Park Alliance, along with the New York City Parks Department, is powering an amazing, and vital public works project; we can’t wait to see the plan unfold in the coming years.

Highbridge Voices

From our Portfolio
Highbridge Voices - Homepage

Highbridge Voices is an arts-centric nonprofit in the Highbridge area of the Bronx, NY, focusing on youth development through music education and performance.

Continuing our work building websites for nonprofits, we worked alongside the Highbridge team to completely overhaul their old, static website, bringing them into the ‘modern’ age of the web. By re-organizing their content, focusing on audience, access, and prioritization, we re-shaped their presence and outreach, providing a CMS-powered site that will grow with the organization–and can be managed day-to-day by organizational staff.

Specific project challenges included a vast multimedia collection, including audio players, video, and slideshow galleries, and integrated, self-hosted donations for fundraising, including recurring donations. We extend Highbridge outreach by integrating the site with the Mailchimp CRM and E-Newsletter platform, setting up seamless collection forms to keep their audience engaged beyond the site itself.

We’re thrilled to work with this vital youth-oriented nonprofit and community organization, and count them as a shining example of the kind of clients we had in mind when we founded Social Ink.

Social Ink worked with CTW to have a fair use campaign site, combining video, mailing list signup and educational materials to help the nationwide campaign. The site is built with a responsive framework that intelligently and fluidly changes the layout to accomodate for a variety of resolutions and device types.

Bridges to Community is a local nonprofit that organizes travel and trips, providing international aid and forging community ties in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

We overhauled the BTC website, creating a contemporary, fresh site with registration for trips, events and donations, all with on-site payment and credit card processing for costs and donations.  All interactive features have automated follow-up emails from customers, and easy back-end user management. Typekit-hosted fonts and embedded videos and custom feeds round out the site.

Kidney Research Institute

Continuing our work building websites for medical research and scientific projects, Social Ink worked with Washington University’s Kidney Research Institute to redesign and  rebuild their old website.

In addition to a new interface and layout including slideshows and staff and investigator profiles, we created a custom app-based interface to search, filter and offer resources around the Institute’s work, publications and research.

A special subproject saw the realization of an online, season-based vitamin D calculator, allowing outside practitioners and the public to benefit from the Institute’s work.

The Pinkerton Foundation

Pinkerton Foundation Homepage | Websites for Foundations

Social Ink worked with New York’s Pinkerton Foundation to overhaul and build a brand new web presence. In the spirit of both an online calling card showcasing the work and mission of the organization and to make the grant proposal process more transparent, the site was built with special attention to inter-related sections and information architecture.

Featuring up to date news regarding the foundation’s enterprises and easily navigated grant guidelines and contact information, the reinvigorated site sheds new light on the organization’s mission to improve the lives of New York City youth across program areas: after school learning, career readiness, education, and youth justice.

It has been our pleasure working alongside the fine folks at the Pinkerton Foundation as we grow our portfolio for websites for foundations.

Circle of Women

From our Portfolio
Circle of Women - Home

Circle of Women is a national nonprofit lead by an enthusiastic team of young, dedicated women, “mobilizing students to provide access to education for girls without it.”

As the organization grows, they needed a more robust, media rich site to establish their presence to volunteers, donors and partners. Social Ink worked closely with board leaders and other team members to provide an easily updatable site to showcase Circle of Women’s latest projects, their staff and integrate their donation services to site databases.

We’re proud to support the fine work of Circle of Women as we further our work designing and developing websites for nonprofits.

The AUMF is a nonprofit member organization sponsored by the United Negro College Fund and is the nation’s leading network of minority biomedical scientists.

Social Ink created an entirely new brand and visual identity for the organization and its Speaker Bureau initiative, with complementary logos, a 50-page Speakers Bureau booklet, lapel pins, brochures, postcards, and other peripherals.

The new identity was carried over to a completely revamped web platform, including a protected members-only area for Fellows and Partners to network and build resources. Features of this CMS-powered development include advanced database interaction for listing and extending user profiles, slideshows, multiple feeds and cross-listing of taxonomies and categories, exportable application forms, and a microsite for the Speakers Bureau located at http://sciencediversityspeakers.org.

Complete visual identity and CMS development for the The National Center for Social Work Trauma Education and Workforce Development, a collaboration between the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service.
