Every Vote Counts Illinois is a voter registration and participation site targeted to citizens concerned with political engagement and civil rights in Illinois.

Continuing our work building short turnaround advocacy sites for community and organizing groups, the site featured key action buttons, an information panel with slideshow capabilities, and basic information pages, along with search and contact forms, made immersive with a full bleed background image.

The site is built entirely in a user-friendly CMS, which allows for easy content upgrades by any non-technical admin. GET OUT THE VOTE!

Pennsylvanians for Quality Affordable Healthcare is an advocacy organization affiliated with healthcare workers in the greater Pittsburgh area.

This time-sensitive project included soup to nuts design and development services, from a type based logomark to web interface design and development. By merging testimonials, news updates, and fact explainer cards, along with a dedicated contact page, the “microsite” gives the organization a landing page for other marketing and web ads, and a gathering place for collective action and organization.

We’re thrilled to align with organizations fighting for worker’s rights and smart health care choices, building efficient, powerful advocacy websites in the Pittsburgh area, and beyond!

Raise Illinois Action

Raise Illinois Action Homepage by Social Ink

Working together with advocates in Illinois, Social Ink delivered another advocacy website around raising the minimum wage in Illinois.   Raise Illinois Action’s motto resonates with Social Ink’s mission:

We believe that everyone deserves fair and decent wages; the opportunity to grow and flourish in our workplaces and communities; and the right to live with economic security and shared prosperity.

Weaving together stories, contact forms and videos & images, we gave our best contribution to this growing movement.

The Vera Institute’s new Status Offense Reform Center joins experts with lawmakers in proposing alternatives to the criminal justice system, especially around juvenile justice sentencing.

With team members at Vera’s SORC initiative, we workshopped around accessibility, audience, and user interface and experience (UI UX), building a site from the ground up, with a ‘soup to nuts’ scope ranging from visual identity to web-side information architecture and database design.  A key move for SORC was the inclusion of publications both on and offsite, a dynamic, meta-data driven filtering system, and a dynamic “how-to” toolkit for interested stakeholders.

The SORC team is doing great advocacy and educational work toward reform in New York City and throughout America; as part of our continued work with web design for nonprofits (and other organizations), Social Ink is proud to outfit them with the right tools for the job.

This project continues our series of efficient, flexible, CMS powered advocacy sites helping to stir political action and participation. Features include slideshow, video integration, news feed, Twitter feed, and integrated petitions.

Columbia University’s Breast Cancer Family Registry exists to realize the full potential of collaborative research involving breast cancer families — to reduce the global impact of the disease.

In order to realize this vision, Columbia and the BCFR  partners approached Social Ink to brand, design and develop an information-based site, with an extendable codebase for future interaction and resource-building. By incorporating a customized CMS backend for easy staff control, a high resolution slideshow, partner buttons, and content templates, the site provides access for participants and researchers, highlighting grants and publications in addition to background information and contact forms.

The BCFR is funded by the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

The site is built with a responsive framework that intelligently and fluidly changes the layout to accomodate for a variety of resolutions and device types.

Social Ink worked together with progressive journalism project and online magazine WNV to design a new visual identity and logo, and rebuild their existing platform, migrating over 3 years and 2000 articles into a newly categorized and easily searchable system.

The new site links related content and archived metadata in an integrated experience. Using the latest in responsive design and development, the site intelligently shifts layouts to be viewed across all mobile devices and browser sizes.

Web design for online magazines is an important and emerging area of work for Social Ink!

The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY works directly with the United Nations to organize and work for women’s rights the world over.

CSW reached out to Social Ink to redesign and rebuild their website, creating new visual identity assets and icons and re-aligning their events management flow with an integrated donations and registration payments (ECommerce) system. This CMS-powered site with customized backend interface powers all CSW events and helps the site with outreach and organization.

BoardAssist, a nationally recognized organization that helps nonprofits and board members connect with one another, contacted Social Ink about updating their site to reflect their changing demographic and updated web standards.

Working together, we completely redesigned the BoardAssist site, including streamlining the application processes and giving BoardAssist staff full control over the various types of data and content areas.

As we continue to build websites for nonprofit organizations, we support the fine work of Board Assist as they play their part in the nonprofit community!

The Correctional Association of New York works for prison reform and a more humane and equitable criminal justice system.

Social Ink designed a new visual identity and developed an information packed website with resources, and multipronged outreach initiatives. As we worked to refine the key content delivery mechanisms and targeted audiences, we developed and launched a specialized cross-referenced resource database, and multiple templates for coalitions, issue oriented actions, press and media, and more.

We are proud to support the Correctional Association’s work to reform the criminal justice system in New York and beyond, as we continue our work building websites for nonprofits.

Social Ink has been in NYC since 2007!
